Sources

Someone recently wrote me inquiring about the sources we used in the making of The Complete Epic Trilogy. I thought that I could whip up a short list for anyone else who may be interested.

[Note: I've included all of the sources we've referenced in the making of this feature, including sources that we didn't necessarily use any footage from but used as a guide in the editing or color correction process. Some of the dates cited are estimates based on best available info. All sources are full frame (4:3 ratio) unless otherwise noted.]

I believe that this is everything that we used, but I could swear I'm missing something else. Oh well!

Also, a correction: this project is going to be mixed down to 2.0 Dolby Digital and not 5.1. The preliminary 5.1 mix that we tried just sounded artificial, so after experimenting a bit we've found that 2.0 sounds better for what we're working with.

  1. I came across this site while researching, of all things, the Godfather mansion that was for sale somewhat recently. Question from a non-techie fan -- how will one be able to obtain a DVD of this Complete Epic Trilogy without downloading? I'm dating myself, but as someone who remembers time-shifting the Godfather on a videotape machine when it first aired on network TV, I haven't the first clue about how to get something like this on my computer from the Internet. I appreciate any help; thank you in advance.

  2. Hi stephen! We will probably release this as a torrent and we'll post the link for that when it's uploaded.

You will need a torrent program like utorrent (my personal choice) or any of the other well-known torrent clients out there. Downloading is fairly straightforward and there are several tutorials out there to walk you through the process.

To view it on your computer you will need a decent media player. I recommend VLC as it plays pretty much any file type in common use.

And to burn it to disc, you will need a DVD or Blu-Ray converter to convert the file into a burnable format. I've used ConvertXtoDVD for years and have never had any problems with it.

    1. hi, this is great news , and a torrent is a better and always the best way to upload and download files,
funny i visited this site about 3 years ago and thought it would not happen, and two days ago i decided to edit the godfather 1 and 2 (i don't consider 3 exists), from all the resources i got ,into 1 major epic film , but not like the chronological epic release ,but with part 1 first then part 2 and the young vito stuff in part 2 as they appeared in the part 2 release , it clocked about 7 hours 33 minutes , but this is great and amazing almost 2 extra hours,
your work is amazing and your passion and patience to finish this will be hugely appreciated by all godfather fans(who isn't?!?) or film fans in general ,
please post as soon as possible because i cannot wait , thanks :D

    2. No problem! We'll post as soon as it goes up. I'd love to see your edit too, let me know and I'll post a link to it.

Just got word on the final running time, 634 minutes, or just under 11 hours. That's not counting the supplementary disc.
